Once again with this project Angelo Bellobono want to analyse the social and biological effect of being human on the individual and collective identity, how the place has influence on perception of ourself and how we perceive the place and the others,the differences and the unseen.
This performance and the relative installation want to make an analysis around the concept of migration and the physical and psychological effort involved on it.
To ridefine our existence and identity in a new context require a lot of energy and the young man who remove the fruit basket to discover his portrait represent all this.
More specifically, Xavier, the performer, moved from Ecuador to Rome near to the area where the Wunderkammern Gallery is located, many years ago the Gallery was a fruits deposit, that’s the reason to choose the fruits baskets as a cover of Xavier’s portrait.
Then, when he started to remove the baskets, Xavier has found himself, he was facing to himself into a new cultural, social and physical context.
He did an effort, wich metaphorically is the effort who everyone have made when decide or are obliged to migrate.

Ancora una volta con questo progetto, Angelo Bellobono vuole analizzare l’effetto sociale e biologico che l’essere umano esercita sulle identità individuali e collettive, su come il luogo abbia influenza sulla percezione di noi stessi e di come noi percepiamo i luoghi e gli altri, le differenze e l’invisibile.
Questa performance e l’installazione relativa vogliono analizzare il concetto di migrazione e lo sforzo fisico e psicologico che intervengono in esso.
Ridefinire la nostra esistenza e identità in un nuovo contesto, richiede molta energia e il giovane Ecuadoregno che nella performance rimuove le casse di frutta per scoprire il suo ritratto rappresenta tutto questo.
Nello specifico, Xavier, il performer, è migrato dall’Ecuador a Roma, stabilendosi nella zona in cui si trova la Galleria Wunderkammer, una zona decisamente multietnica. Molti anni fa la Galleria era un deposito di frutta, questa la ragione per cui si è deciso di utilizzare casse di profumate clementine per nascondere il ritratto di Xavier.
Durante la performance, nello sforzo compiuto per rimuovere le casse di frutti, Xavier ha gradualmente riscoperto e ridefinito la sua identità, trovandosi di fronte a se stesso in un nuovo contesto culturale, sociale e fisico, compiendo uno sforzo, che metaforicamente è lo sforzo che tutti compiono, quando decidono o sono costretti a migrare.
