About freedom is one section of the latest Angelo Bellobono projects, an analysis of the freedom word and a series of reflections on its current state, alleged or real, inspired by John Stuart Mill and his “On Liberty.”
It is true that we are born biologically identical at all latitudes, but it is also the case that we quickly become very different and that we are not always free to develop a valid human identity and an adequate identity.
Bellobono - writes Nicola Davide Angerame - start from a consideration of what is a special prerogative of man: his being free to possess the discernment and choice his own actions if it do not limit the freedom of the others. Un’analisi del termine libertà ed una serie di riflessioni sul suo stato attuale, presunto o reale, mi hanno condotto a John Stuart Mills e al suo saggio”On Liberty”.
Se è vero che nasciamo biologicamente uguali ad ogni latitudine è anche vero che diventiamo presto molto diversi e non sempre liberi di realizzare un identità umana valida e un identità sociale adeguata. Le potenze dominanti ci stanno ormai portando verso un regresso sociale, in cui la mediocrità diviene l'attitudine dominante e se per indignarci aspettiamo che la vita si riduca ad un modello unico, a quel punto ogni deviazione positiva verrà considerata immorale e da combattere. Gli  uomini perdono rapidamente la capacità di concepire la diversità se si disabituano a vederla e questo atteggiamento spinge i popoli verso xenofobie incontrollate,alimentate da politiche governative incentrate sul terrore e la paura di perdere il nulla per colpa dell'altro. Tanti sono i motivi per considerare la libertà un elemento importante, un obiettivo da raggiungere   e preservare con ogni mezzo. Tanti sono i governi che attuano controlli e restrizioni sull'esistenza o addirittura puniscono con la morte ogni manifestazione di dissenso. Ho scelto di ritrarre persone a mio parere determinanti e rappresentative dei molti contrasti che l'affermazione di ogni libera espressione porta con se. Così Putin, la Boborova, Assange, Stuart Mills,il migrante,il dittatore e molti altri, stanno li a rappresentare quanto accanimento ci sia  nel negare o difendere uno dei beni più preziosi dell'umanità.
